Photo Advice for Portrait Photos

Pictures are best taken at the pet's level, pictures taken from above give poor impression of the animal with little detail, but they can still be used if they are the only pictures available.

Photos are best taken outdoors on a bright day, but out of direct sunlight as the sun can bleach out details of the coat and features. Although in the case of black horses or dogs i.e. shiny black labs sunlight can enhance the details of the coat. If taken indoors it is best near a window without the use of flash, the more pictures available, the more Teresa can represent the character and personality of your pet. A ¾ view is best and if possible someone to stand behind photographer with a toy to attract pet's attention so the eyes are alert and the ears are up. Teresa likes as many close up photos of the face as possible so that she can get the eyes and facial markings in detail. If possible, it is best if pictures are taken in the same season as the coat can vary with the time of year.

For a small fee to cover travelling expenses, Teresa is happy to take pictures at your home if within West Wales. Or please contact Teresa for advice.

You can send digital pictures by uploading them to the server or you may email them. If sending pictures by e-mail please sends in batches of two or three at a time. Photos may also be sent on a disc using jpeg images.
