Teresa
Tarling was born in Bristol and was always passionate about horses and
other animals. At school, she spent much of her time in class drawing
horses on her exercise books or looking out of the windows daydreaming
about the day she could have animals of her own! Teresa is self-taught
and has been drawing and painting animals most of her adult life,
starting with pencil and moving on to oils but now mostly with pastels (See history of pastels).
In 1992, Teresa moved to the beautiful Cambrian Mountains, in the hills above Llanddewi-Brefi with enough
land to indulge her passion for animals. She has kept setters since
1971 and at present she lives with two Irish setters, Toby and Murphy,
a large menagerie of other animals, Oh! And her husband Des.
Many pet owners that Teresa has carried out commissions for have
commented on the way she has brought out the character of their four
legged friends in her work. Many of Teresa's commissions have led to
repeat business from clients or their family or friends. |
